TL;DR – Is New Gate worth reading as a busy adult?
No.
It has somewhat of a twist in the isekai genre – but at the end of the day it’s SAO-lite.

The protagonist won’t draw you in, but some of the supporting characters have redeeming qualities.

First few chapters are like reading spam mail. I dropped the series at the 4th chapter.
However, you may enjoy it if you’re a fan of the genre and really are looking for a SAO-esque read. For me, it wasn’t worth my time and I recommend you read something else if you’re a busy individual. If you have the time, give it a shot.
