The Hell’s Paradise Manga Review

TL;DR – Is Hell’s Paradise worth reading as a busy adult?

Yes.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Hell’s Paradise is an interesting anti-hero story with a mature theme. The battles are violent and the bad guys are grotesque – it’s a great read that’s almost the length of Demon Slayer.

Breakdown

Premise
Above Average

A group of criminals and their executors must travel to a long-hidden island and recover an elixir that will make the shogun immortal.

Art
Above Average

Combat is looks fluid, but the art really shines when it contrasts the beauty of nature and the absolutely disgusting monsters.

Characters
Excellent

All the characters are so unique and get their time to shine. At times, it overshadows the main duo but they’re all so enjoyable it’s forgivable. I’m constantly wondering what the other characters are doing and how they’re faring.

Binge-Ability
Excellent

The manga is complete and the anime has been announced. This series keeps you hooked throughout the process. This review was supposed to be an “initial impressions” but I ended up 100+ chapters in.

You should read it even if you’re a busy person. The anime is in development as of this post but the manga is sure to entertain. Please note that it’s nsfw.

Grading Scale

I use a five point scale from Poor to Excellent

Average is not bad, it’s average. You’ll likely enjoy it, but you may find greater enjoyment in another book.
